We are so excited to share that one of our friends is (hopefully!) coming for a visit! Manisha is applying for a 6 month tourist visitor visa. Please pray that she gets it! Her interview date is August 3rd (August 2nd U.S. time). We are already excited to have time with her in our homes! She will be doing a leadership development training program half of the time she is here, but the other half we get to spend time with her. We are especially excited because when she returns to India she will be getting married and moving to a more tribal area of India with her husband, so we won't be able to visit her as easily. We really look forward to her visit, so please be praying with us that it all works out.
This sweet girl is going to be a doctor one day. She told me this with confidence. I asked how she knew that's what she would do. She told me that she had made Brenda a pinky promise that she would become a doctor and help her people in that way. And, to her, that was as good as a covenant. She is committed to loving, helping, and serving the people of the slum where she has grown up. Her heart is beautiful and she will be a blessing to her people.
I am pleased to share that we have celebrated our first engagement! It was a sweet time celebrating one of our oldest girls. She is incredible and we are so excited to see her and her soon to be husband go out and change the world. They are a beautiful couple. It is an exciting new stage for us to be celebrating engagements and planning weddings. What a blessing to see our children growing up into amazing young men and women!
We're excited to be spending part of our summer attempting to live out this verse again. Please pray for us! We will share some special stories upon our return.
